INTRODUCTION TO OUR APPROVED PROGRAMS

Our Highly Qualified Staff and Instructors have trained thousands of qualified students.  They are currently licensed and working in the rapidly growing field of Commercial Transportation.

Today I would like to explain to you the Opportunities in the commercial driving field and how NVS will help you to achieve these goals.

Q: What is National Vocational School, Inc.?

A: NVS is a commercial driver training school that was founded in 1992 and trains on all types of vehicles, it will take you all the way from no license to the license of your choice.

Q:        Who pays for the training?

A:        There is funding available from a state and city programs as well as privately funded programs. This is not a loan, and does not have to be paid back. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act substance and alcohol abuse is considered a disability. You ladies and gentlemen are eligible for this funding, and your training should cost you nothing. However the city and privately funded programs are performance based , which means that you must successfully complete the training program and find  (with our help) and maintain legitimate gainful employment.

What will funding cover?

1.         These programs will generally pay for all your training and for your transportation to and from the NVS training facility. The city and private programs will not pay for carfare.

2.         NVS will pay for your transportation to and from the Dept. of Motor Vehicles and in most cases all required DMV fees (license fees, photo fees, permit fees, endorsements, etc.).

3.         NVS will pay for all additional endorsements such as Hazardous Materials, Tanker, Doubles and Triples etc. This will help to extend your employment opportunities.

4.         NVS will provide lunch daily to individuals referred to us by most of the funding agencies.

5.         Only available for state funded students is the double license.  If you enroll in our tractor trailer program and do not use al1 of your allotted 39 hours behind the wheel, you can use your remaining hours for training on the bus and a second road test on the bus at no additional cost. This will give you an "A/P" license and the only vehicles you wont be able to drive will be motorcycles (and of course planes, trains and boats, ha-ha)

6.         In both the Class "A" Tractor-Trailer Program and the Class "B/P" bus program there are additional training hours available in specialized standard shift training. Both programs include practice road tests for employment opportunities (when you apply for a job you will be asked to take a pre-employment road test. NVS offers you advanced tractor-trailer and/or bus training to help you prepare for these road tests*).
