          7.         Our main objective is to get you a job. For this reason NVS is in constant contact with over 100 trucking companies such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, JB Hunt, etc., and 75 school bus and charter bus companies that are constantly looking for drivers with the exact qualifications that you will obtain through your training at NVS. We have been approved to provide The School Bus Driver Training Program., delivered by instructors approved by The State Education Department under the Commissioner of Education’s Regulations 156.3.*

8.                  NVS has two locations and two modern training facilities in Brooklyn, New York and one in Bronx, NY.  

9.                  Although a student rarely needs to take three road tests NVS will offer up to four road tests and all the required additional training without any additional cost to the state or city of New York.  We do this so as not to delay your training in order to wait for approval for additional state funding. 

10.             NVS offers Lifetime Job Placement Assistance. If you lose your job and need help to find another one, you can call us or come in and we will help you

CDL is for both men and women. Driving a school bus is a great job for some women because there is no heavy lifting involved and you work only four – five hours per day but get paid for eight.  When your children are home from school, so are you, there is no need for school bus drivers when schools are closed.  

How to get started  

Q:        How can I enroll as a student at NVS?  

A:        State funded consumers need to see their vocational counselor and express an interest in obtaining a commercial drivers’ license at NVS.  Your counselor should then begin your paper work and set up an interview at your local office.  If you do not qualify for state funding and would like to be funded privately or by the city of New York please contact us at our Brooklyn office at 718-256-3233 or at our Bronx office at 718-401-6988.

Duration of Program 

·        Currently have: no drivers license at all – 3 to 5 months.

·        Currently have: a regular drivers license – 2 to 3 months
